Moravia School Announcements

  •  CONGRATULATIONS to the HS boys CrossCountry Team! This is the first time we have had enough boys on the team to participate in Team events and Tuesday our Team got 8th out of 10. Our JH boys team got 4th place with Jackson McDanel getting a Personal 4th place in the event. WAY TO GO XCountry Mohawks!!!!!!! 

  • The Marching Mohawks will be marching in the Moulton Jamboree on Saturday, Sept. 7. The parade will begin at 1:00. Come out and support your Marching Mohawks! 

  • Missing your Fitbit? Stop by the HS Office and identify it to claim it. 

  • September 15th is Dot Day and we will be celebrating in the Elementary on the Thursday the 12th, by wearing clothes with dots. The Sewing House in Ottumwa has agreed to help us celebrate by giving 20% of fabric purchased next week by saying Mrs. Alger told you of the sale. Also, you may want to read the book The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds.

Today's Lunch: Chicken Nuggets, French Fries, Mixed Vegetables, Salad Bar, and Milk.
Tomorrow's Breakfast: Breakfast Pizza, Juice, Milk.
Tomorrow's Lunch:  Hoagies, Chips, Broccoli & Cheese, Salad Bar, and Milk.

  • It is that time of year that our dress code comes our attention.  Girls- please make sure your shorts are mid thigh when you raise your knee and all shirt straps must be at minimum 1 inch wide.  Boys- no cut off sleeves or short shorts.
  • ATTENTION STUDENTS-  if you are a 7th grader or senior, please make sure you have had your most recent immunizations.  We will be sending note home to notify you if you are non-compliant, and then we will be sending the student home if not brought up to date on all immunizations.
  • Missing your Fitbit?  Stop by the HS Office and identify it to claim it.
  • Brain Bowl sign up is on the bulletin board between the Teacher's Lounge and the FCCLA room. Come join the fun! Our first practice will be Wednesday during your lunch period, in Ms. McKee's room. Anyone in HIGH SCHOOL may join! Hope to see you there!
  • If you would like to run for Student Council office as president, vice-president, treasurer, or secretary, please see or email Mrs. Fairchild. All candidates will need to prepare a speech to deliver to the student body on Friday, September 6th.
  • TAG Seminar will be held today, Today, Sept. 3, in the Spanish Room with Mrs. Singley during first and second advisory/lunch.  First lunch students go to the front of the lunch line and bring your tray with you to the Spanish Room.  Second advisory students come to the Spanish Room first.  You will get your lunch at lunchtime.  Those students in TAG Seminar are: Lexi Cox, Eve Hinners, Blake Helmick, Adam Uhlenhake, Layla Ewing, Charlie Hayworth, Morgan Hawk, Finley Spencer, Zaylie Ewing, Lauren Long, Kjirsten Albertson, Elizabeth Cremeens, Brianna Beaty, Marshall Albertson, Joy Croteau,  and Sonya Hanson. Please bring your Chrome Books.
  • The Cross-Country meet for tonight has been moved up to 5:30.

  • Semester Tests for the JH/HS will be Thursday and Friday.  We will have block scheduling and the times will be posted on the white board.  
  • Students please make sure you are getting your Library books back to both libraries your check out sheets will not be able to be signed by the Librarian if you have not returned books and a book fee will be assigned.
  • Students, please be preparing to turn your chromebooks in to your Advisory teacher tomorrow.  Also, all checkout sheets will be collected by your Advisory teacher tomorrow.  All this will take place at 2:00-2:30.  
  • Please be cleaning out your sport/locker room lockers.  They will be cleaning those lockers and locker rooms and anything that is left in there will be thrown away after 5/31!  Do Not Use The Locker Rooms As Your Storage Room!!!  Anything left in the locker rooms any time during the summer will be thrown away.
  • The Autism Walk will be tomorrow morning.  We will all meet in the gym, and dismissed there at the 8:26 bell.  At that time we will be observing the Freshman Football Players as they "Sign" to be a Mohawk, and then dismissed to the Walk.  During the Walk, the JH and HS will all be dismissed by PA from the Crow's Nest to return to the building to clean lockers.  Please make sure you are recycling/throwing away everything in the proper receptacles.  We DO NOT WANT TO SEE ANY PAPER/TRASH LEFT LAYING ON THE FLOORS.  BE RESPECTFUL OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS!!  We Really Do Appreciate It.

  • There will be a Cross Country meeting Wednesday after school.
  • Attention: 8th-11th graders: Check your email today for a form from Mrs. Fairchild and fill it out by the end of the school day today, May 29th.
  • Fellow Christian Students will hold their last FCS Lunch in the FCS room today during your lunch hours.
